Job title: Account Executive - Large Commercial Accounts

Job Description:

The Crichton Group has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Account Executive to lead account retention efforts and development of a specified book of large and complex agency accounts. The primary focus of this position is to deliver excellent service to clients by building and maintaining relationships, coordinating service needs, and serving as a strategic risk advisor.

Primary Responsibilities:

*Assist or replace the Producer in all aspects of servicing existing clients and maintaining relationships with key decision makers

*Functions as a high level strategic partner to the client.

*Fosters an environment of innovation and identifies ways to apply innovation.

*Works independently to drive account retention.

*Maintains regular contact with accounts/clients in order to actively problem solve/address issues, field questions and understand coverage needs for renewal purposes.

*Remain familiar with industry trends and market conditions and communicate these to clients when appropriate.

*Conduct account analysis and risk reviews to ensure the adequacy of the client's program design

*Develop a service plan tailored to client's needs and coordinate the services of other departments (Account Management Team, Loss Control, Claims, etc.)

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • An experienced insurance service professional with 5+ years as a senior Account Manager or Producer required
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Marketing or Finance preferred or more of related experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Active Tennessee P&C license
  • CIC or CRM preferred
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Suite of Products, Sagitta or similar AMS)

Job Title: Account Manager - Commercial Lines

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Commercial Lines Account Manager. This position is responsible for management, servicing and retention of commercial lines accounts with over $25,000 in revenue and utilizing risk control services. Supports clients as the primary contact and provider of day-to-day service, meeting service and delivery standards for clients assigned. Manages accounts from application through renewal. Provides direction to Account Manager Assistants and support to Producers and Account Executives. Uses discretion and judgment in determining coverage needs for clients and in carrier and client negotiations.

Client and Carrier Relations - 35%

Establishes and builds customer and carrier relationships. Responds to client coverage inquiries, reviews contracts and agreements for insurance coverage compliance, addresses coverage issues, maintains accurate and complete client documentation, liaison between clients and carriers to resolve service issues and policy interpretation, critically analyzes and compares insurance plans to determine suitability. Supports Producers in policy review and delivery, meeting with clients as necessary.

Renewals/Marketing - 45%

Remarkets renewals with carriers including gathering information and reviewing applications and submissions for accuracy and completeness. Negotiates terms, pricing and conditions with carriers. Works with Producers and/or the Account Executives (when needed) to provide renewal information on a timely basis. Prepares summaries of insurance, schedules and proposals, provides support in identifying client insurance needs, gaps in coverage and loss exposure. Recommends appropriate insurance coverage, binds coverage, manages timely production and delivery of renewal policies.

New Business/Marketing - 15%

Collaborates with and supports Producers and Account Executives in marketing business including developing marketing strategy, meeting with prospects, gathering information and reviewing applications for accuracy and completeness and marketing new business with carriers. Prepares proposals, binds insurance, manages timely production and delivery of policies and endorsements in order to develop new business.

Billing and Collections - 5%
Contacts clients regarding outstanding receivables, invoices clients, reviews and maintains accounting history, correcting any discrepancies as needed in order to maximize agency profitability.


  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Some college preferred
  • CIC and/or CRM designation preferred
  • Property & Casualty Insurance License required

Work experience:

  • Previous experience with insurance industry servicing commercial lines P&C business
  • Minimum 3-5 years working knowledge of large commercial P&C insurance accounts
